The last of the 27 men charged in a prostitution sting by Cape Breton regional police in 2015 has had the charges dropped.
71 year old John James MacDonald of Big Pond, was charged with communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services. He was scheduled to stand trial yesterday but the Crown said it would not be proceeding with the case.
Of the 27 charges, four cases were dismissed and three men were found not guilty. The remaining 20 were issued fines of $500. One who was convicted is now appealing.
