It was hot on the weekend….so much so a Level 1 heat alert was issued by the Health Department for many areas of the province.
It also resulted in a no-swimming advisory from the Department of Health for Parlee Beach. It was issued after the heavy rainfall Friday which could lead to high bacteria levels in the water. The province will test the water and release the results in a day or two.
Combined with the heat there was also a lot of wind in some areas…and that caused problems with power outages.
over 5200 NB Power customers were without electricity yesterday evening with outages in different parts of the province…but mainly in the greater Moncton and Shediac areas. Many lost power in the storm Friday night and then again yesterday with the strong winds. Environment Canada reported wind gusts at the airport approaching 80kph.
