Rescue crews are on standby this morning for the opening of the spring lobster fishery in Cape Breton.
Boats from Bay St. Lawrence to Gabarus are heading out this morning to set their traps after a two day delay.
DFO postponed the start of the fishery in Area 27 because of striong winds earlier this week.
Boat operators are encouraged to make sure they and their crews are wearing life jackets, immersion suits or personal floatation devices to minimize the risk of drowning and to maximize the chance of being found if lost.
