The Conservatives are upset by a move by NB power.
Despite all the trees in New Brunswick, the Utility has decided to go to Nova Scotia for its power poles.
Brunswick News reports Marwood in Tracyville has been supplying the power poles for at least 35 years. But now NB power has signed a contract with a supplier from Nova Scotia to save some money.
Conservative MLA Jeff Carr told the legislature it could cost jobs in New Brunswick. Carr pointed out Marwood stepped up in the ice storm and worked night and day to supply a thousand new poles to replace those damaged by the ice.
