Several people have been displaced by a pre-dawn fire that damaged a wood-frame duplex in the Whitney Pier neighbourhood of Sydney.
The owners who lived in one side of the old “company home” style structure were away at the time. The Canadian Red Cross has arranged emergency lodging, food and clothing purchases for a man and woman who lived in the other half.
There were no injuries from the fire, reported shortly after 4 a.m. today at 86 Dominion Street.
