We’re learning more about what led to SIRT being called in to investigate an injury during an arrest by Halifax police.
Officers were looking for a suspect in connection with a potential assault threat involving a group of people looking for another man Sunday night downtown. They eventually located a 24 year old suspect coming out of a restaurant at the Maritime Centre.
During the arrest, the suspect suffered a facial injury. He initially refused medical attention but then later went to hospital with a fracture near his eye and the Serious Incident Response Team was called in.
