Dennis Oland’s lawyers are asking the Supreme Court of Canada to acquit their client not just order a new trial.
Documents filed with the court show the lawyers arguing his conviction was unreasonable and ran counter to evidence provided at trial by a man who was working in the office below Richard Oland’s the day he was murdered. Anthony Shaw testified he heard thumping noises coming from Richard Oland’s office at a time when Dennis Oland was seen on a security camera in Rothesay 15 minutes away.
They have also raised a number of other issues which they say should result in an acquittal.
