The revitalizatrion plan for downtown Sydney was put before a crowd at a public meeting last night.
The $7.5 million plan proposes a big facelift for Charlotte Street, including burying power lines, putting in a bike lane and widening sidewalks with outdoor dining and seating areas as well as small parks and maybe a public square with buge screen TV for watching movies or sporting events.
Downtown Councillor Eldon MacDonald the plan is vital to the municipality because Charlotte Street is in desperate need of major infrastructure work. So he figures now is the time to make wholesale changes.
