A rally was held on the weekend to save the Jelly Bean Houses.
They are due to be demolished shortly so a mixed income apartment building cam be put up by the Saint John non-profit housing group.
One of the organizers, Janelle Russel, told CTV the colourful houses, buiolt in the 1860s represent a time in history.
Deputy Mayor Shirley McAlary says saving the ornate facades of the buildings is not off the table yet. The housing group can’t promise it will do that…it’s considering the costs.
