The Universite de Moncton says it has figured out a way to block those malicious emails aimed at a female student.
Ten have turned up in the email accounts of student and staff since February 25th. The university issued a statement yesterday saying its I-T department is now blocking some emails from external organizations. So those legitimate organizations may get a message back that their email was not delivered.
University president Raymond Theberge initially rejected that plan saying that as a university it had to keep communications open and that shutting down the email system would send the message that the attacker was winning.
