The City of Moncton is hoping pending changes to the local governance act will give the city more powers over booting of illegal parked cars, accoding to the Times and Transcript.
Mayor Dawn Arnold took to Facebook on the weekend to say it is an incredibly frustrating practise for everyone involved. She was commenting after a pallbearer’s car was booted in a private parking lot during a funeral Friday. She says there are limits on what the city can do about the practice, which she calls a blight…but is hoping new provincial legislation will give the city more control.
