American intelligence agencies intercepted phone calls last year between Russian officials and members of Donald Trump’s campaign team.
The New York Times reports Russian intelligence contacted Paul Manafort, who served briefly as Trump’s campaign chairman. He resigned after the media revealed his firm’s covert lobbying on behalf of he former pro-Russia government in Ukraine. Anonymous officials told the Times they found no evidence that the Trump campaign was actually working with the Russians on email hacking or other alleged election meddling.
