Halifax Council is set to consider bids this week to provide free wireless internet access in downtown Halifax and Dartmouth. HRM received four bids to provide the service but city staff are recommending the tender be awarded to Bell Aliant at a cost of 2.6-million-dollars over five years. The tender calls for free wi-fi internet access to be provided for the Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts, parade square and areas around the Halifax Central and North Memorial Libraries
