Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was questioned about possible public input into the Energy East pipeline at a town hall meeting yesterday.
A man who said he was with the Council of Canadians asked Trudeau if public meetings will be held in affected communities, and whether detailed maps of the pipeline route would be provided. Trudeau says his government has enhanced the process for pipeline approvals to make sure there’s more public input, rigour and engagement.
After the town hall meeting in the morning he went to Saint John were a large crowd welcomed him to the Market Square Atrium. Then it was off to shake hands with more people at a Tim Horton’s in Hampton.
