The dairy industry in Atlantic Canada is being hit hard by layoffs.
Agropur and Saputo, both in Quebec; are laying off almost 350 people, beginning April 1.
The two companies say they are realigning their sales and merchandising structure.
Stores will now be responsible for putting the milk in the coolers after its delivered.
In recent years, Agropur has bought out Farmers and Scotsburn dairies; among others in the Maritimes.
