President Barack Obama said goodbye to the White House in an emotional speech last night to the American people.
With Donald Trump ready to be sworn in Friday, Obama admitted there were disappointments during his eight-year tenure in the White House. He cited ongoing racial tensions and economic inequality. He also defended his vision for the future saying his faith in America has not been shaken. Obama also told the American people not to become cynical and warned about the threat to U-S democracy posed by purposely deceptive fake news and a growing tendency to listen only to information that confirms what they already believe.
