The Canadian military is coming under fire for what three former members are calling systemic racism.
In a class action lawsuit filed against the Canadian Forces, claimants Marc Frenette, Wallace Fowler and Jean-Pierre Robillard all say they were the targets of harassment and their superior officers did nothing to stop it.
Frenette — who has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder — alleges he was told by superiors to laugh off the racist behaviour and not take his complaints up the chain of command.
