Emergency helicopters could resume landing on hospital helipads in Nova Scotia within six months of a new deal to obtain two new choppers. Health Minister Leo Glavine says a deal will be finalized next month to lease two Sikorsky S-76 C+ helicopters to transport critically ill patients. Glavine says the newer Sikorsky’s will be compliant with Transport Canada regulations for rooftop landings. The current LifeFlight helicopter was banned from rooftop hospital landings under federal regulations in April.
