A 44 year old New Ross man is facing weapons charges after a standoff with RCMP Sunday.
The man, who is a hunter, was in a garage where his collection of nearly 40 firearms was stored. RCMP say he allegedly fired a shot into the air earlier Sunday morning. The Mounties arrived and safely evacuated a woman and four children from the house, as well as neighbouring homes on Fraxville Road.
Several hours later the man gave up. He’s been released on conditions and will be in court December 21.
