A bus service that would link Saint John, St.Stephen and communities in between won’t being going ahead without funding from Ottawa. The Southwest New Brunswick Transit Authority tells the CBC that despite a commitment from the province, the proposed Rural Lynx bus service needs federal funding to become a reality. While Ottawa currently doesn’t have specific funding aimed at rural transit, the transit authority is still hopeful the federal government could support the bus service as a pilot project. The proposal would see twice daily round trips from Saint John to St. Stephen with stops along the way at Lepreau, Pennfield, St.George and St. Andrews.
