One of the largest basketball tournaments in Eastern Canada has been cancelled as teacher’s continue their work-to-rule campaign in Nova Scotia. The Coal Bowl held in New Waterford every February since 1982 has officially been cancelled due the job action. Scheduled to begin February 6th, the tournament attracts teams from across the country. The tournament relies on hundreds of volunteers and the use of Breton Education Centre. Teachers have always played a large part in hosting the event but under their current job action they are not participating in extracurricular activities.
