Residents who use the Hammond River No. 2 covered bridge in Quispamsis want the government to save it.
Transportation Minister Bill Fraser told a packed public meeting earlier this week the century old bridge suffers from a lot of wood rot and may have to be torn down.
Some say sure…but other residents say there aren’t many covered bridges left in the province and it would be a shame to lose it.
The government is considering two options…building another bridge beside the present one which would take longer…or tear down the current bridge and put a new one on the present pilings which could be done sooner.
