The evacuations in B-C now number over 14,000 people forced from their homes by wildfires.
More than 400 square kilometres have been destroyed by the flames. Hundreds of fire fighters and equipment from other provinces are arriving in BC to join the fire crews who have been battling the flames for several days.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says B-C has requested 3,000 cots and blankets from federal stockpiles, as well as military aircraft support such as helicopters to airlift people to safety.
